Don’t let Halloween pass you by

POLSON — New Life Church is hosting a Drive-Thru Pumpkin Patch Bash.

The Pumpkin Patch Bash team has been working hard to make this year’s event the safest experience for you and your family. Be sure to stop by for candy, free food, a cake drive, bicycle giveaways, family photos, and much, much more on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 2-4 p.m. at New Life Church.

‘Helping Hands’ speaker to address Kiwanis Club

POLSON — Polson Kiwanis Club meets the first and third Thursdays of each month at the KwaTaqNuk Resort and Casino, (49708 U.S. Highway 93), downstairs. KwaTaqNuk follows COVID-19 protocols, taking temperatures at entry upstairs and requiring masks and social distancing. Please join us Thursday, Nov. 5, at noon when our guest speaker will be Jennifer Rolfsness from Helping Hands. A lunch is available for purchase.

 

Library celebrates bats, Halloween

POLSON — Mobile Hotspots are now available for check out at North Lake County Public Library. You can check out these mobile hotspots for seven days at a time. You can connect any device (smartphone, laptop, computer) and access the internet wherever there is cell service. You must have a North Lake Bat Week is Oct. 25-31 this year. Join us in celebrating their role in nature and their incredible diversity. Watch for virtual programming, bat facts, a book display, and free printables that contribute to bat awareness and conservation.  

Show us your costume. We will be ready with safe and low-touch treats for all the little trick-or-treaters in the library on Friday, Oct. 30, during our open hours 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Happy Halloween. Plus, we’ll have something special for you.

The library will be closed Saturday, Oct. 31. We will reopen Monday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. 

The library will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 3, for Election Day. We will reopen on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 9 a.m.

The library hours during phase two of reopening are: Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. We are also open Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. for the vulnerable population. 

 

Quilter discuss by-laws

RONAN — The Mission Mountain Quilt Guild will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the Terrace Lake Community Church. Please bring your masks and any show and tell you want to share. The main topic will be our by-laws. Hope to see you there; everyone is welcome.

 

Ronan teacher elected vice president of ACTE

RONAN — The Montana Association for Career and Technical Education announces that Casey Lunceford, Agriculture Education Teacher at Ronan Public Schools, has been elected the 2021 Vice President of the Montana Association for Career and Technical Education. Montana ACTE’s leadership is a volunteer board of directors, elected by the members of the association in an annual election.

The Association for Career and Technical Education is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. Montana ACTE is a member state with a mission is to provide leadership in developing an educated, prepared, and competitive workforce. The Montana Association of Career and Technical Education provides the career and technical education necessary to create the highly skilled workforce that supports the demands of the 21st century economy and promotes economic development in Montana’s communities.

 

Wear red, white, blue to jam

POLSON — Classic Country Jammin’ will be open for players from 1-4 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Lake Bar on Highway 93 across from the Bakery. If you have anything red, white and blue, please wear if you can, to celebrate our great country. Please bring your own instruments and sound equipment, including a mic, if you would like to play along with everyone during and after your turn. If you don’t have sound equipment you are welcome to play acoustic. We do have one mic available. Everyone is welcome to play or listen. There will be no cover charge for players or people coming to listen. For more information call 406-260-6590.
