MONTANA — Glacier National Park will hold a virtual community discussion on March 18 from 7-8 p.m. regarding challenges the park and visitors will face in 2021.
Sponsored by the Glacier National Park Conservancy, the virtual meeting will be held over Zoom. Members of the public are welcome to attend and can register online on the Glacier National Park Conservancy website www.glacier.org.
Park Superintendent Jeff Mow will provide an overview on topics, such as the proposed ticketed entry system, park visitation numbers, COVID-19 mitigations and challenges with seasonal housing. During the registration process, participants will have the option to submit topics for discussion.
Some COVID-19 precautions are still in effect.
The east side of the park remains closed. Winter road conditions traditionally close roads to vehicles, but in addition, most of the east side of the park remains closed to all entry. Plans for the summer of 2021 are still underway and have not been finalized at this time. As soon as we know more information we will post updates and in other locations on the park website.
Winter visitation is much lower than in the summer. If you do find yourself in crowded conditions please continue to maintain social distance, wear a mask, and follow other COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
