Editor, Shirley Azzopardi is a candidate for HD 93 which includes Ronan, Charlo, Arlee, Moise and parts of St. Ignatius. We couldn’t ask for a better representative than Shirley. We are all tired of the politicians who really don’t listen to their constituents. They continue to preach about issues that don’t impact Montanans. They blame everyone else for the problems but won’t sit down and try to work out solutions. Shirley listens, and the people are saying they want our kids to have a good public education and feel safe in their classrooms. Shirley, as a graduate of the University of Montana, taught special education in the St. Ignatius district for 28 yea...
Editor, You gotta love our Legislature - they make Houdini look like Bozo the Clown. Most recently they introduced, for your vote this coming election, the Born-Alive Protection Act, an anti-abortion provision intended to change our state constitution from allowing to prohibiting a woman’s...
Editor, If a Republican was ever going to vote for a Democrat, Montana’s HD 1 is the race. Monica Tranel is about representing all Montanans, not just the Rs or the Ds. As a lawyer, Monica has a track record of fighting hard for working Montanans and has a proven record of taking on corporate monopo...

Editor, The season is upon us, and misinformation campaigns are stepping up. As voters, we should check the facts with a variety of reliable sources and take it to heart when people who are asking for our votes lie to us. The popular Inflation Reduction Act has triggered lies from high places: ...
Editor, I want to thank the two gentleman employees of Salish and Kootanai Housing Sewer division for their prompt response to my concern of a drainage problem. I appreciated their professional and friendly manner. They assisted me in locating the problem even though it was not the fault of S&K ...
Editor, When I was a boy back in the 1930s and ‘40s, my brother and my way of responding to the adults telling us what to do or what not to do was to speak in Pig Latin. The words “Pig Latin” become “igpay atinlay.” They would often hear “Easeplay ebay iotquay,” o...
Editor, If you’re not yet familiar with Montana Western District Congressional Candidate Monica Tranel, prepare to be impressed. I’ve seen her several times on the campaign trail and each time I’m struck by her integrity, grit, and tenacious work ethic. Raised on a ranch in eastern Monta...
Editor, We are fortunate to have Monica Tranel as a candidate for our new Western District for the House. She lives in Montana, gets out to talk to people, and is a strong supporter of veterans. These are her words: “I’ve talked with veterans from Columbia Falls to Victor, and heard their need...
