We need to cull our collection of donated books. Please feel free to come in and take some home with you.
The veterans’ representative will be here on Sept. 16, from 10 a.m.-noon.
Eh? What’s that you say? The hearing clinic is on Sept. 23 from 9-11a.m.
Once again this year, we will have our flu shot clinic on Friday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with the staff of the Safeway Pharmacy handling this again this year. So mark this on your calendars, get your shot and stay and have lunch with us.
Banana splits for all this month at our annual membership drive. Watch this space for the exact date.
Our Friday night bingo games have been well attended. We start at 7 p.m. and end with a $100 blackout game.
Donated fresh garden veggies have been gratefully received. Thanks to all you gardeners.
The lunch menu for the coming week is:
• Thursday, Sept. 11: hamburger steak
• Friday, Sept. 12: sloppy Joes, fries
• Monday, Sept.15: turkey noodle soup, tuna sandwich
• Tuesday, Sept. 16: burger Swiss steak, seasoned rice
• Wednesday, Sept. 17: hamburger gravy, whipped potatoes
• Lunches are served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Bridge scores for Sept. 1 were: Chuck Aker was first and Jeanette Brown was second. Speaking of cards, we sure would like to get our Thursday afternoon pinochle players started back up after their summer break. Hope to see you here.
You never appreciate what you have until it’s gone- - toilet paper is a good example.
