ORDINANCE NO. 2016-02
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CERTAIN PORTIONS OF RONAN MUNICIPAL CODE 8-1-300, ET SEQ., TRAFFIC REGULATIONS; METHOD OF “ON STREET” PARKING
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Ronan has adopted Sections 8-1-300 of the Ronan Municipal Code providing for the regulation of traffic within city limits; and,
Whereas, the City Council desires to amend certain portions of the aforesaid Sections as set forth below to include method of “on street” parking to the said Sections:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RONAN, MONTANA:
The foregoing recitals are not mere recitals but are part and parcel of this Ordinance.
8-1-307 B is added in its entirety, to wit: “METHOD OF ON STREET PARKING.” It shall be unlawful for any vehicle to make a left turn to park on the opposite side of the street.
This section does not apply to making a left turn into a residential driveway to park or a driveway into a commercial parking lot.
8-1-307 C Penalty: Any person who shall violate any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be punishable as provided, first offense $50.00, second offense $75.00, third and subsequent offenses $100.00.
REPEALING CLAUSE: All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
FIRST READING: August 1, 2016
SECOND READING: August 15, 2016
NOW, THEREFORE, the fore- going Ordinance shall become effective on September 14, of 2016.
