Elder services division manager

ELDERS SERVICES DIVISION MANAGER, DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
    The successful applicant is required to have a Bachelor's  degree in Business Administration, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or other Human Resources related field and/or an Associate's degree with five years of documented work experience in the above mentioned fields of study. Applicant must possess an intimate understanding and knowledge of traditional culture/s. The work requires empathy and sensitive conduct to achieve credibility and mutual respect with elders. Must possess the ability to communicate with people of all ages. Must have a firm knowledge of resources and eligibilities of all elders and poverty based programs.  Must stay updated on all service program eligibilities annually. Applicant must possesses historical, social and cultural knowledge of the community and thorough knowledge of family and health histories. Recent successful direct program experience with managing a program budget, building and maintaining a database for clients, performing eligibilities for a program (applying federal program guidelines). Extensive client communication. Must have five years of documented supervisory experience.
    Some experience with forms creations and working with vendors and state and federal program officials. Experience with housekeeping, maintenance and ability to coordinate construction work with other programs. Current driver's license is required and automobile insurance is required. Must be fingerprinted and pass a civil and criminal background test (will be determined eligible for employment and will remain on probation until the civil and criminal check is done to ensure there are no concerns for background of individual working with elders). Neither felony convictions nor misdemeanor convictions that pose a risk for elders. Applicant must be willing to work non-conventional work hours and be willing to attend special events and working with various programs when upcoming workshops or conferences are scheduled. Will remain on probation until the issue of civil and criminal background check is final and results are received. Salary is $15.50 per hour.     The successful applicant must possess a high school diploma from an accredited High School or a GED. Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute. Must possess training or experience with word processing and spreadsheet software (WORD and EXCEL). Experience in surfing the Internet. Must be able to open a WORD file, cut and paste a portion of a WORD document and save the WORD document. Ability to read a map and locate states & cities in the Western United States. Possess experience in working and communicating with the public or in an office working with other personnel where communicating information was important to that position.  Must possess or be immediately eligible for a Montana State driver's license. Varied available shifts: 10:00 p.m.-8:00 a.m. Wednesday – Saturday.
