Polson's tennis team made the most of three straight days of tennis, winning both boys' and girls' duals on Thursday in Columbia Falls, then going 4-0 in duals at the Cut Bank Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

In Cut Bank, Polson beat Fergus (Lewistown), Hardin, Havre and Cut Bank. Both Pirate boys and girls teams gave up just five matches over the four duals.

"It was an amazing weekend of tennis in really nice weather. It was a great opportunity to see teams from all over the state," Polson head coach Bob Hislop said.

He should be happy. He had 10 players with perfect 5-0 records in their five matches played over three days.

"Young kids are starting to round into form and the older kids are playing real well for the most part," Hislop added.

The coach pointed out that Andrew Storro, Max McLean and Jacob Browne, for the boys, and Josie Benedetti, Whitney Zimmerman and Erika Nunlist, for the girls, had especially good weekends.

Kayla and Kendyall Rochin almost had a perfect weekend, but lost one doubles match 8-4.

"Kayla and Kendyall played real well in a doubles match with last year’s state champions from Havre and ended up losing 8-4. They actually had a break point (and were up) 4-3, but lost the game and the match," coach Hislop explained.

Polson will be back in action this week with one varsity match in Ronan on Thursday, plus junior varsity matches with Columbia Falls on Monday and Saturday.
