Edna Jones

PHILIPSBURG, Mont. — Edna N. Jones, 72, of Philipsburg, Mont., passed away March 15, 2010, at Granite County Medical Center, after a courageous battle with chronic lymphatic leukemia.

She was born October 18, 1937, in Charlo, Mont., the daughter of the late Arthur Lester Jones and Alma Cyr. She was the eldest daughter of six siblings. She graduated from Ronan High School and moved to California when she was 20.

Edna lived in Northern California for over 35 years. While living in California, Edna was a bookkeeper and secretary by trade, but her passion was in interior decorating and being a homemaker. She was very active with her local Lutheran church for many years.

After she moved back to her beloved Montana in the mid 1990s, Edna became very active in her community and participated in many church and civic activities. Edna was happiest while spending time with her dogs, Bee and Shasta. Friends of Edna say she had a knack for always knowing the right thing to say and for making people feel special.

Those who survive her will sorely miss her. Edna is survived by her ex-husband and life-long friend Allan Kremer of Lafayette, Calif.; her daughter and grandson, Helene Kremer and Nathan Maestre of San Ramon, Calif.; and brother, Deryl Jones of Deer Lodge, Montana.

Her adult son, Steven Kremer, preceded Edna in death in 2006.

A Memorial Service is planned to celebrate the life of Edna Jones on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 1 p.m at the Philipsburg Community Church in Philipsburg, Mont.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 9025, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
