ARLEE — The Arlee Senior Center will have flu shots available on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 10:30 a.m. to noon for seniors and members of the community. Please take advantage of this opportunity.

There are also commodity slots available for those seniors who are low income. Call (406) 726-3213 or visit the center for an application, or call LCCOA to receive one at (406) 676-2367.

At the Arlee seniors board meeting this month members will review job descriptions, the by-laws and the constitution of the Arlee Seniors, Inc.

All of our cooks attended the training session in Eureka last month learning many new ideas and cooking skills.

We thank Theresa Brown for her custodial services these past years and are hiring a new custodian.

The Council on Aging offers foot care, which is very reasonable and helpful to the elders who cannot cut their toenails or need TLC for their feet.

The Arlee Community will have a fall festival October 24 and 25. All merchants and organizations will offer specials, drawings, fun and games and we encourage everyone to attend.

The Arlee Senior Center will have their Friday and Saturday lunch and dinner along with a bake sale and other fun things throughout those days. The senior center always offers games, TV, puzzles, bingo, a pool table, and music for those interested.

The October menu is:

•  Wednesday, Oct. 8: sweet and sour meatballs on rice, fruit cocktail bars

•  Friday, Oct. 10: cowboy beans, corn muffins, pudding

•  Saturday, Oct. 11: pork roast, potatoes, gravy, local squash, cherry crisp

Everyone is welcome to the lunches, which cost $4 for seniors, $5 for those under 60 and dinners are $5 for seniors, $6 for those under 60. The center will deliver meals if you call (406) 726-3213 on the day of the meal. Also, if you wish to sign up a relative or friend who is homebound for a delivered meal all month, call (406) 726-3213 to make arrangements. The Arlee Senior Center is located at 34532 Weissinger. We truly invite you to come join us as having all ages present at the meals makes the elders feel like family has joined them for dinner. Happy fall.
