ARLEE – James and Nathan Boot will be the featured artists for the Killdeer winter show. Montana natives, James and Nathan are father and son – and both artists draw their inspiration from the Montana landscape. The exhibition will be titled “A Pair of Boots.”

An opening reception – with gallery talk given by James and Nathan Boot – will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, from 2-4 p.m., at the Hangin’ Art Gallery and Café in Arlee. The show will be up on Oct. 27, and remains up until March 22.

Also on exhibit will be the works of other members of Killdeer Artisans’ Guild - who, in addition to their usual work, will contribute miniature art.

A descendent of Danish house builders and cabinetmakers, James began as a furniture artist in the mountains of Montana over 40 years ago. His beautiful and unique creations have won numerous woodworking awards, and his work has been exhibited at galleries, museums, and some of the finest homes around the world. James has retired from woodworking and now creates watercolors – making all of his frames, using woods, paints, stains, and metals.

Nathan began building furniture professionally at the age of fourteen, moving on to learn carving from his father. Even now, they collaborate on projects and art pieces. Nathan’s goal is to mix the functional with art – making objects people can use for years and pass on to their children. He has expanded his work to include printmaking. His woodblock prints and beautiful frames, have been particularly well-received at the Hangin’ Art Gallery.

Come meet the artists, and explore this surprising art destination located on Hwy. 93 North in Arlee.
