Janice Gail McClure

RONAN — Janice Gail McClure, 69, of Ronan, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

She was born on July 5, 1945, in St. Ignatius, to George Walter McClure and Laura Helen McClure. From birth to the age of five she lived in Polson with her parents and two older sisters. They then moved to a ranch east of Pablo. She attended school in Pablo from grades one to five, and then attended grades six to high school in Ronan. She graduated from Ronan High School in 1963. She then went to Missoula and attended the Modern Business College for three years. 

In 1966 Janice moved back home and took a job in the billing department for the Flathead Irrigation Project. She ran the business machine that printed the power bills. In July 1967 she began working for the CS&K Tribes in Dixon. There, she worked in the Print Shop until the early 1970s when she started taking the Tribal Council minutes at their meetings. In 1972 Janice moved to the Enrollment Office, where she happily worked until she retired in July 2006.

She was blessed with two children, daughter Raquel and son Scott. She was also a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.

Some of her favorite hobbies included knitting, ceramics, drawing, and crafting. She was also the family historian and organized and recorded many family memories.

Her parents George Walter McClure and Laura Helen McClure; her sister Georgina Beverly Pettit; her son Scott Michael McClure; and nephew Ryan Scott Berens preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Raquel (Penrod) Davis; her grandchildren Justin Davis, Elizabeth (Ryan) Price, Jade (Ray “Irish”) Mitchell-Stanford, Morgan Davis; and her grandchildren Anthony, Joseph, Tyler, Jack, and Randy Price and Sage Mitchell-Stanford; her sister Charlene (John) Schaub; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 3-6:30 p.m. at Grogan Funeral Home. A Rosary will be that evening, Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 8 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Polson. Funeral services are on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Catholic Church in Polson. A reception will follow. Burial will take place at Lake View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Bick, Dave Bick, Dan Tromp, Daniel Tromp, Jason Tromp, and Clayton Matt.

Janice had the kindest soul and loved everyone she met. She was the most generous person and had the best smile. She was genuine and full of love.
