POLSON — We had another great turnout for our community Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by the community’s churches. Several hundred people attended and none went away hungry. That’s not counting the many meals that were home-delivered. We express our heartfelt thanks to those who volunteered and the delivery teams who carried meals to those who couldn’t be here in person. After such a satisfying meal, I, personally, find myself wanting another turkey dinner.

I just know that there was something else I was going to mention but my train of thought often leaves the station without me.

Diana Sawyer had the high women’s game on the Tuesday senior bowling league with 184. Don Young had a 224 for men’s high game. High women’s series was captured by Frani Basta with a 403 and Don Young had a 619 series. Claudia Barry had a 639 to take the women’s handicap series while Jim Funke had 714 for men’s.

The lunch menu for the coming week is as follows:

•  Thursday, Dec. 4: Salisbury steak with noodles.

•  Friday, Dec. 5: cheeseburgers, fries

•  Monday, Dec. 8: turkey noodle soup, tuna sandwich

•  Tuesday, Dec. 9: burger Swiss steak, rice

•  Wednesday, Dec. 10: soft shell taco, salsa and sour cream

Lunch is served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

When I die, I want my last words to be, “I buried a million dollars under the -  -  -  -  -.”

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
