ST. IGNATIUS — On Sunday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. the public is invited to attend a benefit concert with all donations going directly to the restoration project at the St. Ignatius Mission. The Treasure State Chorale will bring the true “Spirit of Christmas” to the church with exciting, festive, and joyous music.

The first half of the concert includes an exciting arrangement of “Spirit of the Season” from The Polar Express. Other songs provide an insight into the various aspects of the holiday celebrations with nostalgic music from days gone by to more current and popular songs. The second half of the program brings another aspect of the holiday season as the Chorale will present the story of the nativity in song with a unique mix of musical genres all telling about the birth of the Christ Child. From Caccini and Haydn to Black Spirituals, to contemporary arrangements by John Rutter and music both familiar and new to audiences, this music adds to the festive mood of the program. The excitement of the Spirit of the Season builds as the Chorale adds music with a bit of thought towards hopes, dreams, and miracles. A triumphant finale resounds throughout the church as the Chorale joyously sings about just that — a joyful Christmas Day. The Chorale leaves the audience with the opportunity to reflect on the Spirit of the Season with a special song arranged for choir and strings.

Set aside that Sunday afternoon to leave behind the hustle and bustle and enjoy the music of the season while helping restore the Mission. For more information, call (406) 745-2768.
