News from the Lake County Transportation Advisory Committee
RONAN — The Lake County Transportation Advisory Committee will be holding a meeting on Dec. 18 at 9:30 a.m. at the Mission Valley Senior Center to discuss the Lake County Transportation Coordination Plan for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016. Transportation providers in Lake County — whether public, private or non-profit — are encouraged to attend the meeting, as well as anyone else interested in transportation.
Throughout the coordination planning process, public involvement is a key to the success of the Community Transportation Coordination Plan. The necessity to keep the small communities of Lake County linked through transportation is vital for not only the survival of the individuals, but the community itself. If residents are unable to access necessary medical and social services, they are forced into making the decision to let their health deteriorate or move to another community. If their only option is to move to communities that offer the needed transportation services, we will certainly see the demise of small towns across the county.
