ST. IGNATIUS — The American Legion James R.W. McCarthy Post 106 recently donated $577 to the Mission Valley Food Pantry in St. Ignatius. Funds were raised through 50/50 donations on Griz football boards.
From January through November, the pantry has serviced 1,261 families, totaling 59,065 pounds of food to seniors, adults, children and 149 veterans in Mission, Dixon and Arlee communities.
“We want to thank Tribal gaming for the permits, Ninepipes Lodge for their help in coordinating, and Vic Stevens … (and) all the volunteers who work our food pantry, Griz fans, and community,” American Legion Post 106 adjutant Homer Courville said.
