RONAN — Santa and Mrs. Claus didn’t fly into Ronan and St. Ignatius the week before Christmas. Instead they employed the help of some kind-hearted firemen to give them a first-class ride while spreading good feelings.
Every year, the Ronan Fire Department members chip in funds to purchase gifts for children in Ronan and Pablo. The group usually delivers to 10 or 12 sites in the communities.
“It’s something that we’ve done every year for the past several years,” Fire Chief Mark Clary said. “I usually let all the younger guys handle it. They really enjoy it and have a good time doing it.”
