POLSON — Applications are being accepted for the annual $1,000 scholarship given by the Montana Association of Clerks and Recorders. Applicants must be graduating seniors who plan on attending a Montana university, college or vocational-technical school.

Application forms are available from the guidance counselors of all high schools in Lake County, from the Lake County Clerk and Recorder’s office at the courthouse in Polson or on the Lake County Clerk and Recorder’s website. The completed applications must be returned to the Lake County Clerk and Recorder, Paula Holle, postmarked no later than March 16, 2015.

Applications are judged on the basis of work experience, school and community activities, goals, unusual circumstances and scholastic performance. Final judging will be done by May 1st to select one statewide winner and an alternate. A certificate will be issued to the winner. Upon acceptance by the school of the student’s choice, the scholarship will be paid directly to the school.
