ARLEE — The Feb. 2 meeting of the board of directors elected the following officers for the 2015 year: president-Patty Hahn; vice president-Lilie Willison; secretary-Bette Samsel; treasurer-Anne Stewart. We all look forward to a busy and productive year. With the additional funding made available through the Mill Levy passed last June, we are working on a four-year plan to develop programs that will benefit seniors in our community and others. We are open to suggestions so let us know if you have ideas you’d like to share. Suggestions so far include: providing Internet access and a copy/scan/fax machine; using transportation through the LCCOA program to transport seniors to Grizzly basketball and football games; and car-pooling to have lunch at other centers in the valley.  Sounds as if some people want to get out and see some country.  With planning and organizing; it’s all possible.

On Saturday, Feb. 14, at 6 p.m., the regular second Saturday evening meal will be a special Valentine’s dinner and we invite friends and neighbors to come and enjoy a delicious dinner. The drawing for the quilt will be held. The quilt was designed and created by Joyce, Sherrie, Connie, and Margaret, who donated the quilt to the Arlee Senior Center. Most of you know these local quilters who have given a great deal in many capacities to this community. This will be a fun evening...please join us. The cost is $6 for those

over 60 and $7 for those under 60 years. There will be a Valentine bake sale also so you can take home some sweet goodies.

On Feb. 23 the LCCOA foot care lady, Jane Bronson, will be at the Arlee Senior Center from 10:30 a.m.-noon. In addition, we will take blood pressures and if anyone would like to bring their nail polish and manicure tools, we’ll have a “Spa Hour” and paint fingers and toes.

Do you know what a Paraprosdokian saying is? Two examples of this are:  I’m supposed to respect my elders.... but it’s getting harder and harder for me to find one anymore. Knowledge is - knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. You can probably come up with some really good ones on your own.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
