ARLEE — So far the only bad thing that happened on Friday the 13th was finding a leak in the drainpipe from the kitchen sink at the Arlee Senior Center.
A call for help got a pseudo plumber there to do a temporary fix. A bucket was put under the sink to catch stray drips and a new plumbing job was scheduled for next week. If that’s the worst that happens, we’re just plumb happy and grateful.
On Monday, Feb. 23, the foot care lady, Jane Bronson, will be in Arlee from 10:30 a.m.-noon. She will be ready to help keep our toenails from curling down or turning up and snagging our socks. In addition, we will have a blood pressure check station from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for anyone who needs or wants to know how high or low his or her blood pressure is now that the holidays are past. This will be a regular service offered the third Monday of each month, starting Feb. 23.
Complete February menus were published in the Feb. 4 issue of the
Valley Journal, but here’s a quick reminder of the main dishes for Feb. 23-28:
• Wednesday, Feb. 18: chicken tenders and potatoes
• Friday, Feb. 20: meatloaf and scalloped potatoes
• Monday, Feb. 23: chef salad and soup
• Wednesday, Feb. 25: stroganoff over noodles
• Friday, Feb. 27: cooks choice
• Saturday, Feb. 28: baked chicken
P.S. for this week: We’re never too old learn something stupid.
