Miles S. (Pat) Harbin

PLAINS — Miles S. (Pat) Harbin passed away in Plains, Montana, on April 14, 2015, at age of 93. He was born on May 9, 1921. He was in good health until his final brief illness.

Pat’s five children: Nancy Richwine; Connie Voth (Bob); Jeanne Shaffer (Rich); Ray Harbin (Carol); and Roger Harbin (Joan); survive him. He had twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. His special friend Sally Sears also mourns his passing.

Pat was raised in the Flathead Valley on his parents’ ranch and he developed a lifelong love of the outdoors. He spent many summers on a fire lookout in the Bob Marshall Wilderness and continued to visit there up to his final trip to fish in the South Fork at age 85. Miles served in the Army Air Corp in World War II.

He had lived in Kalispell, Ronan, Condon, Arizona and Plains. He was married to Harriet (Jensen) Harbin, who preceded him in death in 2007.

A private ceremony was held for family members in Plains and a memorial will be held for friends and his extended family later this summer.
