ST. IGANTIUS – The Mission-Arlee-Charlo Lady Bulldogs stayed strong after picking up a pair of wins over the weekend to bring them to 7-2 on the season.

At home Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs pulled a sweep on Troy though one of the W’s was claimed by forfeit.

In game one of the double-header, the Lady Bulldogs 10-runned Troy 12-2 in five innings behind a powerful 15-hit performance. 

Lady Bulldogs Shania Dubois led her team at the plate going 3-3 for the game with a triple and a trio of runs batted in. Mikaylan Roylance picked up three doubles in her 3-4 effort while Morgan Malatare added another three runs in her 2-3 performance.

Game two brought a win by forfeit for the Lady Bulldogs as Troy was unable to field a team due to injuries.

MAC will join fellow valley teams in Frenchtown Friday for tournament play and will also host a double-header against Plains on Saturday.

Polson

POLSON – The Lady Pirates ripped through their weekend competition after smashing Corvallis, collecting a win to add to their 5-2 season record.

On Saturday Polson hosted the Lady Blue Devils, and with a little bit of spring sunshine on their side, the Lady Pirates sat on the heavy end of the seesaw contest, sending Corvallis home, 22-1.

The Lady Pirates posted 19 hits in the short game. The mercy rule went into play after a 20-run second inning decided the fate of the Lady Blue Devils, who logged 11 errors.

Lady Pirate Jaiden Toth went 4-5 with a triple in the romp while teammates Hannah Potter and Skyla Krantz each batted in three apiece. Haley Fiat picked up the win from the circle.

The Lady Pirates will head to Libby on Thursday and then scoot over to Frenchtown Saturday for tourney play.

THOMPSON FALLS – Ronan continued to pick up hits at the plate after logging a combined 17 at Saturday’s double-header in Thompson Falls. The win kept the Maidens in the running for a top spot on the Western B/C conference ladder with a 7-2 season record.

Maiden pitcher Carston Rhine dominated the circle, posting 21 K’s between the two contests. Rhine’s 14 strike outs in the first game helped the Maidens drop the Lady Blue Hawks 15-1.

At the dish, Kenzie Dulmes was 4-6 with a double while Kiana Brown knocked in four runs in her 2-4 effort.

In game two the Maidens went to work quickly, leaping ahead by seven in the first inning and never looking back while scoring in every single inning of the five-inning, 14-0 shutout.

Rhine grabbed her second win for the day with seven strikeouts, limiting her opponents to only two hits. The offense was led by Amanda Morency plating a perfect 3-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

The Maidens will head to Frenchtown Friday for some tourney action and will return to host Eureka for a double-header Monday.
