Hawaii resident Janna Hoehn is intent on remembering and honoring those who lost their lives in the Vietnam conflict and she’s on mission to put a photograph to every face on the names etched into the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.
So far she’s found photographs of seven of the 10 fallen soldiers from Lake County, with the exception of Jack M. Baker of Ronan, John C. Mattheisen of Charlo and Joseph L. Pokerjim of St. Ignatius.
The photos will be included in “Faces Never Forgotten,” and installed in the Education Center to be built near the Wall to ensure the vital piece of history will be remembered and honored by visitors from around the globe for generations, according to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund website.
