MISSOULA — Montana Avalanche 18U (White) Softball Team is off to a great start. The Missoula-based team boasting two Lake County athletes took a first place finish at the Blast into Summer Tournament in Kent, Washington, on June 7 and a second place in the USA Preps Summer Slam-Off in Richland, Washington, on June 14.

The team is now ranked fourth in USA Preps National Team Rankings.

Players from Missoula, Florence, Frenchtown, Helena, Plains, St. Ignatius and Polson make up the team this year. Hannah Potter from Polson and Jordyn Eichert from St. Ignatius represent Lake County. All the players on the team step up each game to outstanding teamwork. From the coaching, pitching, defense and to the batting, they are showing how Montana girls can compete across the Northwest Region.

The team will be traveling to tournaments in Hillsboro, Oregon; Tri-Cities, Washington; and then to Orlando, Florida in mid-July to end the season.
