Genevieve Kuck

HOLDREGE, NEBRASKA — Genevieve J. “Gen” Kuck, 82 years of age, of rural Gosper County, Nebraska, and formerly of Pablo, Montana, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. Gen was born Oct. 16, 1932, in rural Red Willow County, Nebraska, the second of five children born to Walter and Lucille (Wagner) Weber. She received her primary education in Trenton, Nebraska, and graduated from McCook High School in McCook, Nebraska, with the class of 1949. Following high school, she pursued higher education at Kearney State College and while there, met the love of her life, Bruce Kuck.

On Aug. 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Bruce Darryl Kuck in McCook and to this union four children were born: Rose, Pamela, Bruce Jr. and Cindy. The family made their home on a farm in Gosper County, where they engaged in farming. Gen focused her efforts on raising their children, but could also be found working side-by-side with Bruce on the farm, doing whatever job was needed. She also was a Tupperware sales representative for many years.

In 1974, the family relocated to the Valley View area near Polson, Montana, where the couple ranched for many years. Bruce preceded Gen in death on Dec. 26, 2011, and Gen then moved back to Gosper County to be near her children. In June of 2015, she began to make her home at the Elwood Care Center in Elwood, Nebraska.

Gen enjoyed quilting, baking, cooking, sewing, crossword puzzles, and especially visits from her family, friends and neighbors. She also had a passion for tending to her garden and then, after harvesting her crops, enjoyed canning. She was a member of the Valley View Women’s Club in Montana for many years where many friendship bonds were formed.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: son-in-law, Bob Fouts; sister-in-law, Jaunita Weber; brothers-in-law, Paul Cotton and Bill Elley; and nephews, Tim Elley, Ronald Kuck and Donald Kuck.

Private family services and inurnment for Genevieve will be held at a later date.
