POLSON — A woman allegedly involved in the Oct. 7 attack on a Ronan day care provider pleaded not guilty in Lake County District Court Oct. 21.
Tashiana Schlensker, 21, Charlo, entered her plea in response to charges of felony assault with a weapon in Judge James Manley’s court . She’s scheduled to be back in court Feb. 3, 2016 for an omnibus hearing, and a jury trial is set to start March 14, 2016.
According to court documents, Schlensker came to Martha’s Mini Daycare with Francis Jackson, who had three children in custody of Tribal CPS, being cared for in the home. Jackson was allegedly intoxicated, was not allowed to have contact with the children. He was legally not allowed at the day care. Schlensker allegedly began assaulting the day care provider after Jackson attempted to hit the day care provider in the face. Schlensker allegedly hit the provider with a snow shovel, causing serious injury to the day care provider’s face.
Francis Jackson, 31, was set for arraignment the same day in District Court, but his case was continued until Wednesday, Oct. 28.
