News from St. Luke Community Healthcare

RONAN — On Friday, Sept. 11, the St. Luke Community Healthcare Foundation held its 15th annual fundraising gala. The sold out event was attended by community members, business owners, artists and medical professionals at the Ronan Community Center for an evening complete with silent and live auctions, gourmet meal and live music.

Hosted by the St. Luke Foundation Board of Directors with the help of a committee of staff and community volunteers, under the leadership of the new Executive Director, Caroline McDonald, the gala raised more than $34,000 to support the healthcare needs of St. Luke patients.

This year’s fundraising is focused on helping the neediest families with healthcare; supporting young doctors in the study of rural medicine; and joining with other community partners to reduce substance abuse. In addition to fundraising, goals of the event included educating the community about the Foundation’s successful projects to date and honoring the community that continues to support St. Luke in its commitment to lifelong care of our patients and family.

The St. Luke Community Healthcare Foundation is grateful for the partnership and support of the many donors as well as sponsors for making this one of the most successful events to date.

“The funds raised from the Foundation dinner are vital to ensuring that healthcare services are available to all the members of the communities we serve”, said Caroline McDonald, St. Luke Community Healthcare’s Foundation Executive Director. “Although we appreciate every dollar we raise, we are also aware that in this climate of scarce resources, we must look to forging new community partnerships to achieve our shared vision of a healthy community where all residents have access to excellent healthcare at every stage of life.”

The Foundation is excited to announce the groundbreaking of the new student housing unit adjacent to the hospital in Ronan thanks in part to the funds raised at the gala and a pledge from Glacier Bank. Please look forward to updates regarding the Foundation’s work in the near future.
