RONAN — Ryan Dresen was recently accepted into the Carnegie Hall Honors Performance Series. This program reviews auditions from all over the world and accepts only the top students for participation in three bands that perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
There were more than 18,000 auditions sent in from high school students from countries all over the world. Only 750 students were accepted to perform. Ryan was selected to play French horn in the concert band and is very excited to represent Montana to the world.
His trip to New York City will be from Feb. 4-8. Ronan High School’s band director, Alicia Lipscomb, applied to be a chaperone and was accepted. She will be assigned to chaperone 15 students. Exciting as this experience is, it will cost a lot of money. Ryan needs to raise more than $2,000 and is currently in the process of raising funds.
