News from Mission Valley Christian Academy

POLSON — The invitations to grandparents were sent out, the program set, the students work was hung up with pride. We were all ready to welcome Mission Valley Christian Academy grandparents to our school on Friday, Nov. 20. This had been a much anticipated day.

Grandparent/grandchild portraits where taken to mark the day in all of our minds with a sign above their heads … Love is. Love is time, time given to those that we care about, time to make memories, tell stories of long ago.

We had 50 grandparents come from near and far. Some traveled from as far away as California, Wyoming and Oregon to attend.

Students shared in a morning program their musical skills by playing the recorder, singing Amazing Grace and reciting the Books of the Bible. Then students and grandparents all went to class where discussion and sharing was heard by all. Recess brought the grandparents back to the time of their school days and what recess was for them: jump rope, dodge ball and hide and seek.

Grandparents Day brings a richness to all of our students’ and staffs’ lives here at MVCA. Sharing similar experiences as well as new ideas brings depth. We appreciate all of the effort and time that each of the grandparents put into making this a wonderful, memory filled day.
