Two Eagle River Eagles

PABLO — The Eagles put on a show in front of family and friends Friday at Two Eagle River School as five players scored in double-digits during their 92-81 win over St. Regis.

Senior guard Julian Cutfinger led the team with 22 points, followed by Issiah Mathias, with 17 Points and Zachary Mathias with 16.

“Our kids played great offensively and defensively,” said Head Coach Lloyd D. Irvine, Jr. “We took care of the ball on offense, we were patient and executed our offense, and we limited our turnovers.

Defensively, the Eagles’ full court press was too much for St. Regis, Irvine said.

Seniors Donnie Herman and Darius McDougall played “very solid” in what was their first contest on the Two Eagle team, according to Irvine.

“(I’m) very proud of our team character and our two seniors that played their first game,” Irvine said. “Overall our teams’ continuity is coming together. We will continue working hard at practice and take one game at a time.”

The Eagles’ character will be tested with Plains Thursday night, followed by Arlee Friday night.

“If we play smart on offense, play great defense, and make our free throws, we will be fine,” Irvine noted.
