Students take center stage in ‘Sleeping Beauty’

News from Port Polson Players

POLSON — The Port Polson Players production of the musical “Sleeping Beauty” features 125 student performers in kindergarten through eighth grades. Two separate casts with students from Polson, Ronan and Dayton will present this famous fairy tale, including 63 students who perform Friday, Jan. 22, with a different cast of 63 performing on Saturday, Jan. 23. Showtime for both productions is 7 p.m. on the Polson High School Stage.

The Port Polson Players, in association with The Mission Valley Friends of the Arts and Polson School District No. 23 have teamed up for the 31st year to produce Neal and Karen Lewing’s adaptation of this charming folk tale. Ronan’s Cathy Gillhouse plays piano and helps with the musical direction for the extravaganza.

Tickets will be sold at the door; Adults get in for $7, student tickets are $6. A family ticket is also available for $22. No reservations are necessary. The box office opens at 6:15 p.m. each night.
