ST. IGNATIUS – Stanley Gilbert Gies, passed away on April 18 at his home in St. Ignatius.
One of thirteen children born to Alfred and Helen (Tucker) Gies, he was born July 27, 1944, in St. Ignatius. He graduated from St. Ignatius Schools and worked in the natural resource field only recently returning to St. Ignatius.
He was preceded in death by son Stan Ray Gies in 2014 and is survived by his children Guy (Susan Morris) Gies and their children Cory and Jorren and Wade Lee (Cauline) Gies and children Lilly, Sam, Dryden, Cosby and Price; Stan Jr.’s children Cade and Amber as well as Joyce Mitchell, his former wife, who stayed beside him in his fight with cancer.
Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.
