ST. IGNATIUS – Mission High School Seniors walked through the halls of the school in their graduation caps and gowns to follow the path they took starting in kindergarten on Wednesday. “We were here for 13 years,” said senior Israel Umphrey. “It’s cool to walk back through these halls and see how far we’ve come.” Students at each grade level lined the halls to congratulate the seniors along with teachers and staff. “It’s interesting to think that as we move on other people move into where we were,” he said. “It’s a surreal experience.” Twenty-six seniors stopped in the gym to write words of advice for future generations before they went out to the elementary playground where a few took one last trip down the slide. The walk was part of a Graduation Matters program focused on honoring the graduating students and inspiring future graduates. The seniors will officially graduate on Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m.
