News from Mission Valley Arena Association

POLSON — Chuck Wall and Steve Lozar, on behalf of the Mission Valley Ice Arena Association, took home the People’s Choice Award at this year’s Polson Rotary Chili Cook-off at Riverside Park on August 27th. Chuck and Steve are on the board of directors of an organization dedicated to building an indoor ice arena in the Mission Valley. Programs to be implemented at the future Mission Valley Ice Arena will include but not be limited to youth and adult hockey, figure skating, speed skating, and curling. Such a facility will give local youth another much-needed option for a constructive outlet, physical fitness, and teamwork and skill-building opportunities. The facility will also give local adults opportunities currently unavailable without traveling to Missoula or Kalispell. The Mission Valley Ice Arena will bring a major boost to local businesses as it will bring in visitors from all around, including other states and Canada, for various tournaments and other competitive events as well as coaching and training opportunities currently unavailable due to crowded ice times at other ice rinks in the state.

Donations are being accepted and are much needed to get this exciting project funded. Please visit their website at www.MissionValleyIceArena.com, like them on Facebook, or call Chuck Wall at 406-883-5367 or Hilary Lozar at 406- 207-2998. The Association would like to extend a special thanks to Harvest Foods for donating the meat for the cook-off.
