Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County

LAKE COUNTY — Each month at the Boys and Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County, the staff has the painstaking task of choosing two Members of the Month from each of the Polson and Ronan Clubs – one boy and one girl who have exemplified the six pillars of good character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

For September at the Polson Club, Maylee Suzzanne Clairmont and Alexander William Erickson have been nominated as the notable Members of the Month.

While Maylee is a fairly new Member of the Club family, she has already demonstrated great aptitude as a Club role model and overall positive, caring citizen. She treats everyone she meets fairly and is a loyal friend. At only 6 years old, Maylee has already proven herself to be fearless and is always excited to try new things. She most enjoys attending the Club because she loves the meals she gets to share with all her friends. For snack, her favorite food is yogurt, and for dinner, she looks forward to spaghetti night. A smart, creative and artistic young lady, she likes to have sleepovers with her friends and play in the park with her dogs. When she is older, she would like to write a book of “fifty-a-million-pages.”

Alex, age 11, is also a new Club Member. The staff is very impressed with the amount of maturity he constantly demonstrates. He is respectful to all he meets and is eager to take leadership roles in the Club, always bringing 100 percent effort to whatever he tackles. He enjoys attending the Club in order to participate in all the fun, surprising activities with his friends and Club staff. He especially enjoyed the “Last Day of Summer Party” hosted before school started where he had the opportunity to show off his strong athleticism in the relay races and get soaked in the water balloon fight. When he is not at the Club, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, eating out and sleeping in. An honest, helpful and respectable young man, he would like to be a mechanical engineer one day. At the Ronan Clubhouse, Tracee Raylynn Burland and Noah Keith Smith have been nominated as the notable Members of the Month.

Tracee, age 11, has been attending the Club for two summers now. The staff love working with her because she always has a positive attitude and is incredibly engaged in every activity. She brings much enthusiasm and hard work to everything she does and is a cheerleader for her fellow Club Members. Tracee most enjoys the Club because of the positive relationships she has with the staff, all of whom she considers role models. Hannah Vaughn was a particularly special mentor to her last summer, and she wishes Hannah the best as she begins college this fall. A fun, nice and active young woman, Tracee likes to go shopping in Missoula with her sister and hang out with her friends on the weekends. When she is older, she would like to own a coffee shop like that of her Nana.

Although he has only been a Club Member for one year now,Noah, age 7, has already been recognized as a ray of sunshine in the Club. Noah’s encouraging smile is contagious, and he brings lots of energy to all the Club activities. He also loves taking leadership roles in the Club and is incredibly helpful to the staff, always asking how he can be of service. He describes himself as happy, enthusiastic and helpful, and everyone who knows him can certainly agree. At the Club, his favorite activity is swimming. He loves learning different strokes and practicing diving. This summer, he especially enjoyed watching the Olympics, and he would like to swim in the Olympics himself one day. When he is not swimming or at the Club, Noah enjoys fishing, camping and visiting Ronan’s “Museum of the Rockies
