Charlo

PABLO – At the Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center Saturday evening the Charlo Vikings evened up their season record to one-and-one against the Darby Tigers, 49-44.

The Vikings’ win came off a 48-44 loss to the Valley Christian Eagles the day before during the Western C Tip-Off Tournament, where Tyson Petticrew heated things up with five 3-pointers and a team-leading 27 points.

However, a cold second quarter in which the Vikings were held scoreless doomed Charlo.

“We have young kids and still have a learning curve,” Vikings Head Coach Gale Decker said.

Against Darby, the Vikings led by 2 points going into halftime.

A 15-6 run by the Vikings in the third quarter gave them enough of a lead to help fend off a late fourth quarter surge by the Tigers.

“The kids played hard and we had some good teamwork,” Decker said.

Petticrew led all Viking shooters with 23 points.
