POLSON – A 53-year-old man faces two assault charges related to stabbing a man multiple times in the face and assaulting and threatening a detention officer.

Daniel James Kenmille, who gave a Billings address but has lived in the area previously, had his bond reduced to $200,000 by Judge James A. Manley on Nov. 10.

Kenmille was charged with assault with a weapon for an Aug. 14 incident where he allegedly stabbed a man in the face several times.

According to a court document, the male victim came to visit a woman in the 36000 block of Third Street North in Pablo when Kenmille allegedly came out of a back bedroom with a knife in each hand and stabbed the man in the face.

Tribal officer Casey Couture observed that the male victim had stab wounds, and two women said that Kenmille and the victim were at the address in question that day.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputy Fernando Venegas observed blood droplets at the woman’s residence, the court document states.

Kenmille was later charged with assault on a peace officer and intimidation following an incident in the Lake County Jail on Oct. 18 after he allegedly chest bumped a detention officer while inmates were being moved so that maintenance could be performed in a cell block. The officer then told Kenmille to move and face the wall when Kenmille allegedly took the officer to the ground and knocked off his glasses.

According to the court document, Kenmille was then tased by Detention Sgt. Don Armstrong. Afterward, Kenmille threatened to break the detention officer’s legs or “get him” when he is out of jail. Kenmille faces up to 40 years in prison as a result of the three charges.

Jury trials are scheduled for March 6 and May 15.
