News from Lake County Boys and Girls Club

LAKE COUNTY — Boys and Girls Club Members of Lake County and the Flathead Reservation announce the November members of the month for the Polson Club and Ronan Club.

Noah Roberts and Ashlin Peters were chosen from the Polson club. Noah is 12 years old and is new to the Boys and Girls Club, being a member only three months. He is one that is patient, respectful, and funny. Our staff truly enjoys having him as part of the afterschool program. Noah says that the club offers him fun activities with friends, making the hours after school more enjoyable. When he’s not at the club, he likes to fish, hunt and play video games.

Ashlin is 8 years old and has been a member for six months, joining us as part of the summer program. Ashlin is kind, helpful, and genuine. She says she likes the nice staff members at the club and has fun everyday she attends.

Both Noah and Ashlin love the outside games played at the club, especially since they are able to do that with their friends. Both of these members exemplify the characteristics we try to develop in our members every day, and hope they continue to model the behavior to others. For their efforts, they are rewarded with a pizza with Aric Cooksley, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs.

The members of the month for November in Ronan are Kaysen James and DeJaNay Little Mary. Kaysen is 6 years old and has been a member for almost a year. He was chosen this month because he is respectful to everyone he meets and is considered a positive role model by both staff and other members. In his opinion, he can really run fast when he has on his sneakers. His favorite colors are the green grass and the blue sky. And he really likes potato salad. Kaysen is always ready to try new activities, and he thinks that outside activities like kickball are the best. He likes to solve math problems and wants to be a science teacher when he grows up. When he has free time, Kaysen likes to fish and hang out with his friends.

DeJaNay is 9 years old and has been a member for three years. She is a member of the month due to her strong citizenship, unconditional caring towards others, and her strong sense of personal responsibility. She is kind to everyone she meets and lends a helping hand to members and staff. DeJaNay says her favorite part of the Boys and Girls Club is a variety of outdoor activities that she can play, including dodge ball, four-square, and kickball. Her favorite color is blue, and her favorite food is oven roasted chicken drumsticks. On weekends, she hangs out with friends, practices gymnastics, and watches movies. When older, she would like to teach math, science and social studies. Both Kaysen and DeJaNay will celebrate over pizza with Aric Cooksley, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club.
