Boardmember appointed to fill Barber’s seat
County Water and Sewer District Board
POLSON — The Jette Meadows/Lake County Water and Sewer District Board has accepted the resignation of longtime and founding boardmember Russ Barber. Barber recently relocated to Flathead County and is therefore no longer eligible to serve on the district’s governing board.
Remaining members of the district board offered heartfelt thanks to Barber for his many years of selfless service.
“Russ helped form the board as a government entity and then helped guide the district through several years of planning and installation of $1.7 million in water system improvements,” said current District Board President John Stromnes.
The vacancy on the five-member board was filled by appointment at a special meeting of the district board on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016. Robert Pearson, a Jette Meadows homeowner, was appointed to fill out the balance of Barber’s term until the spring of 2020, when the seat will be open for election.
The Jette Meadow Water district provides municipal water service to approximately 130 homes within the subdivision north of Polson.
