ST. IGNATIUS — The Mission Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs took advantage of Saturday’s sunny spring weather and sent Troy home defeated in girls’ and boys’ tennis, 4-2 and 5-1.
Mission’s lady netters swept their singles matches against the Lady Trojans, but doubles teams Sydney Allard and Robyn Mitchell and Katie Hogge and Cierra Dougherty both fell to Troy 6-0, 6-2.
The Bulldogs handed Troy a sound thrashing, dropping just one doubles match to the Trojans. Defending Class B-C state singles champion Spencer Ahlborn quickly stopped Troy’s Jeffrey Rebo, 6-1, 6-0, rounding out a solid performance by teammates Kyle Schock, Bryan Schock and Kats Yelsa in the singles matches. Mission doubles partners Trail Bundy and Karl Daniels also defeated Troy’s Derrick Winslow and Casey Graff, 6-1, 6-0.
The Bulldogs traveled to Valley Christian Tuesday, and will host Darby at 4 p.m. Thursday.
