POLSON – Polson Rotary is looking forward to another successful Festival for Youth (FFY) celebration in 2017. This is year our 11th consecutive year of raising funds for local youth activities. The total amount raised in the last 10 years is now over $270,000. The majority of funds are raised through a multi-prize raffle with club members and benefitting organizations selling raffle tickets. Prizes this year include: $1000 cash, groceries and gas ($1000 total value), more than 100 bottles of wine, 2 annual golf passes, $1000 worth of local beef, and a flight seeing trip and dinner for four. The FFY celebration will culminate this year with a Chili Cook-off Contest on Aug. 12 at Riverside Park. We anticipate 14 to 16 different groups manning booths and cooking up their own secret recipes for tasting and judging by a committee of local dignitaries. Tasting kits (bowls and spoons) will be sold to the general public and all are welcome to sample the diverse chili creations.  Anyone wishing to enter the Chili Cook-off Contest can find contest rules and an application form on the Polson Rotary webpage: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/1867. Judging takes place at noon. Tasting is from noon to 2 p.m. Winners of the raffle drawings are announced at 2 p.m.

Polson Rotary is currently soliciting applications from organizations wishing to benefit from this year’s event. The organizations should be youth oriented and have a non-profit tax status with appropriate paperwork. An application can be found on the Polson Rotary webpage: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/1867. Polson Rotary should receive completed applications by April 30.  For more information contact Larry Peltz at 208-816-1425.
