Judge James A. Manley sentenced the following people on May 3:

Arthur Palmer, 32, of Kalispell, was given a three-year sentence to the Department of Corrections with no time suspended for burglary. According to a court document, he crashed a stolen vehicle while being pursued by officers. The vehicle contained numerous items stolen from a Dayton residence. A theft charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. Palmer apologized to the victims and was given credit for 30 days served in jail. The sentence is to run consecutive to one out of Flathead County.

Sheldon Ashley, 24, of Ronan, was given a three-year sentence in DOC with no time suspended for criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute related to a Sept. 4, 2016 traffic stop. Another charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement along with two pending charges. Manley said that Ashley has a meth problem, but noted this was his first felony. He was given credit for seven days in jail.

Alta Rae Finley, 51, of Ronan, was given a three-year deferred sentence to DOC with credit for 81 days in jail for criminal possession of dangerous drugs related to a Sept. 4, 2015 traffic stop.

Vicki Lee Kizer, age and city of residence not available, was given a one-year deferred prosecution agreement for a charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs related to a Aug. 14, 2015 traffic stop where two partially crushed buprenorphine pills were found in a pill crusher, according to a court document.

Toni Leigh Higdon, 50 of Polson, was given a two-year deferred prosecution agreement for an aggravated assault charge. According to a court document, Higdon got into a fight with a woman. Higdon was struck in the face several times, had a split lip and allegedly slashed the woman’s arms with a knife and threw a knife at her.

Judge Kim Christopher sentenced the following people on May 4:

Jerome O’Brien, 35, of Big Arm, had a three-year deferred sentence for theft revoked. He was given five-year sentence in DOC with no time suspended after he violated his probation by failing to report to a probation officer and pay anything toward restitution.

Sean Douglas Jackson, 29 of Ronan, had a three-year deferred sentence for criminal possession of dangerous drugs revoked. He was given a fiveyear sentence in DOC with a recommendation for entry in the Nexus men’s drug treatment program. Christopher noted Jackson admitted to using heroin twice.
