Cross-county rivals Mission-Arlee-Charlo (MAC) and the Ronan Maidens faced off on the softball diamond in Ronan Thursday and MAC came away with the win, besting the Maidens by a score of 17-1.

The Maidens came out hitting, putting runners on the bases and scoring their only run of the game in the bottom of the first. MAC scored two runs in the top of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.

But in the third and fourth innings, things got rough for the Maidens, as MAC scored six runs in the third and seven runs in the fourth for a score of 15-1 by the bottom of the fourth inning.

In the fifth and final inning, MAC scored an additional two runs to make the score 17-1.

MAC starting pitcher Ran’Dee Charlo was in control of the game as she kept Ronan at bay, holding the Maidens to just one run on two hits and striking out seven. At the plate, Charlo went 3-for- 4 with a double and RBI.

MAC’s Kenzie Couture was 3-for-4 with a home run, triple and three RBIs and Maiden Jaylyn Hakes went 1-for-2 and a RBI.
