Glen Sharbono, vice-commander and adjutant of both Ronan Post 138 and District 4, and graduate of Ronan High School, was elected on March 19 to Commander of the American Legion District 4, Department of Montana.

District #4 is comprised of four counties: Lincoln, Flathead, Sanders, and Lake with 13 Posts totaling 1070 Legionnaires.  The Posts are: Post 52 in Thompson Falls, Post 72 in Columbia Falls, Post 74 in Eureka, Post 86 in Big Fork, Post 97 in Libby, Post 106 in St. Ignatius, Post 108 in Whitefish, Post 112 in Polson, Post 126 in Charlo, Post 129 in Paradise, Post 137 in Kalispell, Post 138 in Ronan, and Post 139 in Troy.

Glen Sharbono was sworn into office on June 25 and his term will last for two years. The 100th American Legion Anniversary Department Convention will take place in Polson in June of 2019, at the end of his term.

The American Legion is the largest veterans service organization with over 2.3 million members. Glen Sharbono would like to encourage all veterans to join their local American Legion Post, as their membership is a powerful voice on Capital Hill to protect their rights as veterans.  Remember “the larger our membership, the bigger our voice.”
