MISSION – The Ronan girls’ basketball team ended its season with a 4-15 overall record Feb. 14 in Mission, as the Lady Bulldogs came out fighting to secure a bid in the 6-B District Tournament. Bryanna Steele was a known threat to the Maidens, as she has caused problems for Ronan in two earlier games this season. Steele finished with a game-high 20 points for the Lady Bulldogs, allowing Mission to pull away with a convincing 51- 28 win.
Despite ending the season 4-15, the Maidens have a lot to hang their hat on after making drastic improvements over last season.
Mission led 11-5 after the first frame, and continued to control the game in the second, leading 25-12 at the break. The Lady Bulldogs sealed the deal in the third, going on a 19-7 run.
Courtney Clairmont led Ronan with seven points, while Raymi Clairmont added four.
For Mission, Steele’s 20 points paced the Lady Bulldogs, while Stephanie Lewandowski tacked on 13 and Loren Erickson added another seven.
The loss ended the Maidens’ season, as they had to win to advance to the District Tournament. Mission advanced to play Loyola Feb. 17.
