Former VFW manager charged with embezzlement

POLSON — The former manager of the Polson Veterans of Foreign Wars has been charged with felony embezzlement after more than $15,000 was missing from a VFW account.
Shelley Lynn Leprowse, 49, of Ronan, was charged after VFW quartermaster Matt Lee looked into records and found little to minimal amounts were deposited from a jukebox and pool table from 2015 through June 14 of this year.
According to a court document, receipts from a vendor show that $16,765 should’ve been received for income but less than $1,000 was on the books.
The VFW hired Leprowse in November 2014, court records state, but she was let go in the summer, according to an employee at VFW Post 2986, 423 Main Street, Polson.
