George Edward Bottger
George Edward Bottger POLSON — George Edward Bottger was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He passed away March 2, 2012, at the Montana Veterans’ Home in Columbia Falls.
George spent many childhood days helping his father make sails on the edge of the Long Island Sound. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and received his B.S. degree from Penn State University. George worked at Bethlehem Steel (Johnstown Plant) for 35 years as a cost accountant and retired after 35 years.
George is preceded in death by Violet Schultz, his bride of 24 years. After Vi’s death in 2009, George was cared for by the exceptional staff at the Montana Veterans’ Home in Colombia Falls. His known survivors are Linda Suson (Ed) of Charleston, W.Va.; Karen McMullen (Bob Marsenich) of Polson; his sweet dog Odessa; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No service is planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Northwest Health Care Foundation Hospice Program in Kalispell.
