News from Port Polson Players

The most popular comedic movie and Broadway play from the 1940s, Arsenic and Old Lace, continues to charm, thrill and humor audiences 75 years later. The Port Polson Players production of this classic opens Friday, Oct. 27 and plays two weekends through Sunday Nov. 5 at Polson’s beautiful theatre on the lake. Curtain Friday and Saturday evenings is at 7:30 with 2 p.m. matinees each Sunday. Call 406-883-9212 or go to PortPolsonPlayers.com for reservations and more information

Not only does Arsenic and Old Lace kick off the Players’ 43rd season, it also spearheads the annual fundraiser for the Mission Valley Friends of the Arts, according to MVFA President Carmine Mowbray. “All contributions are tax-deductible and target renovations and upkeep for Polson’s Beautiful Theatre on the Lake.” Mowbray added “MVFA provides the venue so the Port Polson Players can provide Children’s, Community, and Summer Theatre… what an incredible valley-wide asset.” Donations can be sent to: MVFA P.O. Box 1156 Polson, MT. 59860

The 14-member cast for Arsenic and Old Lace represent both ends of the Mission Valley and everything in between. Jay Roberts, guest artist for the show, hails from the other side of the state  where he recently played Mortimer in the Fort Peck Summer Theatre’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace. Karen and Neal Lewing, Port Polson Players producers say “Make your reservations early because we definitely have the talent for this comedy, and thanks to the Mission Valley Friends of the Arts, we have one of the most enchanting theaters in the state.”
