ARLEE — The Arlee Senior Citizens Center is sponsoring a bake sale on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 3 -7 p.m. We will serve our usual monthly “Fourth Saturday” evening dinner at 6 p.m. and welcome all to stop by for a baked item, and stay for dinner.

We also have a silent auction in progress, as well as the quilt raffle. These have been in place for several weeks and both the drawing for the quilt and the closing of the silent auction will occur during the Nov. 11 “Second Saturday” dinner at 6 p.m. That means there are only two weeks left to stop by the center and put your name on a $2 ticket, or three tickets for $5, or seven tickets for $10, for the drawing. Check out the array of silent auction items while you are there. Think “Christmas is coming...I might win that quilt,” or “That pretty silver and crystal wind chime would be a perfect gift for a friend.” Bring your family and come see what’s happening at the Arlee Senior Center.

We are in need of a cook’s helper at the senior center. If you are interested in a part-time job, one that could evolve into more than just 15 hours a week as time passes, come talk with us. We need someone who is a self-starter, an energetic person, and has cooking experience. We need a cook’s helper for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m-1 p.m. and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Starting pay is $9 an hour. Call 406-726-3481 or 726-3718 for more information and details.

We serve a home-cooked lunch every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at noon, and a 6 p.m. dinner the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Everyone is welcome; you don’t have to be under or over any certain age - you just need to bring a good appetite. All meals include a main entree, a vegetable, fruit, a dessert, bread, and milk, coffee, juice or tea.

Menus for the last week of October:

—  Wednesday, Oct. 25: beef stew with vegetables, fruit, dessert

—  Friday, Oct. 27: sloppy Joes, chips, veggie tray, fruit, dessert

—  Saturday, Oct. 28:  Roast Beef, potatoes and gravy, squash, Jell-O with fruit, dessert

—  Monday, Oct. 30:  hot beef sandwich, potatoes and gravy, vegetable, fruit, dessert

Have a happy, fun and safe Halloween.
