Judge James A. Manley sentenced the following people on Jan. 3 and 10:
James Lee Hoskinson, 25, of Polson, had a previous sentence for drug possession revoked and he was given three years in the Department of Corrections with no time suspended for probation violations. He originally received a two-year deferred sentence on Jan. 25, 2017. Prosecuting attorney Ben Anciaux said Hoskinson is a suspect in a case involving pawned coins and a bicycle. He was given credit for 72 days in jail.
Nakita Marie Martin, 30, of Missoula, was given three years in DOC with no time suspended for drug possession after she failed to appear in court several times. She was given credit for 34 days in jail. Martin, who is pregnant, is required to complete a chemical dependency evaluation.
Dante McDougall, 20, of St. Ignatius, was given a three-year deferred sentence for drug possession. He was given credit for 148 days in jail.
Patrick James Weaselhead, 27, of Pablo, had a three-year deferred sentence re-imposed for drug possession with intent to distribute after he did not report to his probation officer. He was given credit for 75 days in jail and ordered to complete a chemical dependency evaluation within 30 days. He is also facing a charge in Idaho.
Clifford William Stanley, 42, of Box Elder, had his previous sentence for his fourth DUI revoked and he was given three years in DOC with no time suspended. He was given credit for 72 days served including 30 days at White Sky Hope alcohol treatment center in Box Elder. Stanley, who had multiple probation violations, has been accepted into the Connections Corrections program in Butte, defense attorney Ashley Morigeau said.
Rene Daichell Ladd, 30, of Browning, was given a three-year deferred sentence to DOC for criminal child endangerment. Ladd was charged following a Sept. 8, 2016 traffic incident in which a vehicle she was driving struck a utility pole on Montana Highway 35 and she and her two minor children were injured, a court document states. Ladd, who had a blood alcohol content of .169 and meth, THC and Alprazolam in her system, has been honorably discharged from the military, Manley said. Charges of driving without a license, driving without insurance and failing to have the children safely restrained were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. A separate criminal endangerment charge stemming from another traffic incident from Jan. 22, 2017 was also dismissed.
Richard Wayne Synder, 41, of Ronan, was given a one-year sentence in jail with all time suspended except for 30 days for DUI, third offense, a misdemeanor. He was given credit for two days in jail and ordered to complete 28 days of house arrest because of the jail being full. He was ordered to pay $2,750 in fines and fees plus surcharges. He was also ordered released from wearing a SCRAM monitoring device, which he had done since July.
Warren Tuffly, 28, of Charlo, was given three years in DOC with all time suspended for assault on a police officer. He was given credit for three days in jail. According to a court document, Tuffly kicked a tribal police officer several times after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Judge Kim Christopher sentenced the following people on Jan. 4 and 11:
Edward Glenn Truman, 27, of Polson, was given five years in DOC with all time suspended for escape. According to a court document, Truman was in jail but complained of chest pains, was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center where he attempted to escape but tripped and fell into a woman and injured her. The sentence will run consecutively to a five-year sentence for criminal endangerment that he received in 2015 after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase where his vehicle went up to 105 mph on Mud Lake Trail. In that incident, Truman crashed the vehicle, fled on foot, was Tased and arrested. He had a blood alcohol content of .08, according to a court document. That sentence was concurrent with a drug possession conviction from 2011 where he received a three-year deferred sentence.
Reese Cameron Bourdon, 25, of Pablo, was given a two-year deferred sentence for drug possession. According to his defense attorney, Eldena Bear Don’t Walk, Bourdon is enrolled in outpatient treatment. Christopher said she accepted the plea agreement with reservation because Bourdon had already been given a deferred prosecution agreement for another drug possession charge.
