HELENA — State Superintendent Elsie Arntzen recently announced Montana’s 2016-17 school year graduation, completion and dropout rates. Graduation rates saw a slight increase to 85.8 percent which is up from 85.6 percent during the 2015-16 school year. There was a larger increase in Montana’s completion rate which is 86.2 percent compared to 85.8 percent in 2015-16. Montana’s dropout rate remained unchanged at 2.3 percent.

Superintendent Arntzen is focused on ensuring that students have pathways to successful post-secondary careers as Montana’s graduation and dropout rates remain steady.

“It is crucial that Montana students have pathways to future success after they receive that high school diploma,” Arntzen said last week. “I am working with our partners in higher education and private sector industries to expand career pathways so that all Montana students can succeed after high school.”
